Onkyo hopes their Amazon Echo-like speaker will make audiophiles happy

Today, we're looking at the Onkyo VC-FLX1. This is a smart speaker with Amazon Alexa on-board. Most smart speaker sounds terrible and so we're hoping that Onkyo's hi-fi background will help here. Like all these speakers, it's voice operated and so it will play music or answer your questions. It will be able to operate like a normal Alexa speaker and also control your smart devices in the home too. As far as sound quality is concerned, there's a proprietary full range driver which comes out at the bottom here. This device also has a camera for home monitoring and can also be shut off if you're worried about privacy. The speaker also includes temperature and humidity sensors and these will be able to be monitored with the use of a third-party smartphone app. Pricing and availability of the Onkyo VC-FLX1 aren't yet available, but stay tuned to CNET.com for more.
