The smart home hasn't found the same traction in Australia that it has in the US. While it may be our American cousins' predilection for the thermostat, this week on the show we take a look at the state of Australian appliances, and why the connected home isn't quite so connected down under.

The Samsung Family Hub smart fridge is certainly taking issue with that, trying to connect appliances and keep your head in the cloud when it comes to grocery shopping. From power standards (and outages) to safety restrictions to privacy concerns to Amazon habits, we look at why that might be an uphill battle.

And while we're talking appliances, we also sit down to talk R&D with Dominic Mason of Dyson, one of the best in the business.
