Fans wanting clues about the next season of BBC series "Sherlock" got a gander at not only Benedict Cumberbatch (albeit a scruffy version) as Sherlock Holmes, but also finally saw the new villain played by Toby Jones in action in the new trailer that debuted at San Diego Comic-Con.

In the video, which hit Sunday, fans also saw quick flashes of a calm Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman), a very upset Molly Hooper (Louise Brealey), a stealthy Mary Morstan/Mrs. Watson (Amanda Abbington) with gun in hand, Detective Inspector Greg Lestrade (Rupert Graves) defending himself, and Mrs. Hudson (Una Stubbs) calling Sherlock's brother Mycroft Holmes (Mark Gatiss) a "reptile."

Sadly, there's no footage of Sherlock with his new Bloodhound sidekick, but there are quite a few ominous images of creepy nurses, a laughing Toby Young and a shocked Sherlock.

But what about that "Miss Me?" message from the presumed-dead villain Jim Moriarty (Andrew Scott)? Sadly, that mystery won't unfurl until "Sherlock" season 4 premieres in 2017.
