Pokemon Go? Hell no, says Rihanna

Technically Incorrect: A clip from her Saturday concert in France shows the famous star clearly expressing herself about phones and Pokemon Go.

Technically Incorrect offers a slightly twisted take on the tech that's taken over our lives.

Around Rihanna, you just shouldn't Pokemon around.

You can't expect everyone to love Pokemon Go.

There have already been police forces and, well, ordinary human beings who have declared: "Please don't."

You might imagine, though, that music stars would be more accepting of kids and their gaming proclivities.

Not all music stars, it seems.

In footage from a concert she gave on Saturday night in Lille, France -- posted to Twitter by Shady Music Facts -- Rihanna made her feelings about gadgets and gaming very clear.

"I don't want to see you texting your boyfriends or your girlfriends," she said. "I don't want to see you catching any Pokemons up in this bitch."

Some may object to her word choice there. I mean, in pluralizing "Pokemon." Aficionados insist that "Pokemon" is singular and plural.

I fear, though, that her hope for gadget sanity may be forlorn.

Phones have taken us over and Pokemon Go has taken over our phones. As my evidence, may I present a journalist at a State Department ISIS briefing who was caught keeping his eye on the game by the department spokesman.

If audience members were catching Pokemon at her concert, Rihanna would likely never know.

Unless some bright spark suddenly screamed that they'd caught them all.

In which case, of course, Rihanna would have surely called security. Unless, of course, security was too busy catching Pokemon too.
