Totally tubular Misfit Ray aspires to fashion in a fitness band

It looks like jewelery or some space age tube but the Misfit Ray is a fitness tracker.
There isn't anything particularly exciting or new here and in fact it's really just the coin like Misfit's shine too It's been around for a year, bent into tube.
It has the same water resistance for swimming, battery life up to six months or so, and vibrates and glows when you get a phone notification.
It tracks steps and sleep automatically.
And that's about it.
You're banking on style with the Ray.
It comes in several metal tones, and has swappable band accessories, or it can be worn as a pendant.
It doesn't do anything that other basic trackers can do.
And while it can be used as a smart button when paired with Misfits app, it doesn't work all that well, because they're aren't any physical buttons.
You have to tap your fingers three times.
The ray feels like one, fancy, wearable gadget too many.
And Misfit's new parent company, Fossils, already makes many trackers that look almost exactly the same.
Replacing is Batteries is also a confusing process.
I'm not the target market for REY but I don't think I'd get it as a gift for anyone either.
