There's a brief moment of hesitation when someone asks to see or use your phone. It's not necessarily that we have something to hide, but a phone is a very personal device, making the hesitation a natural feeling.

LG's G3 has a feature to help eliminate your internal fears called Guest Mode, and it couldn't be easier to use. There's a little bit of setup the first time you enable it, but after that it's breeze.

On your G3, launch the Settings app and scroll down to the "Personal" section. Find and tap on the "Guest mode" option.

Next, select the "Allowed app" option. You'll be presented with a list of all installed apps on your device. Go through and select the apps you want others to have access to; removing a checkmark for the apps you'd like to make unavailable when in guest mode.

After selecting apps, slide the switch at the top of the screen to the "On" position. Your phone will walk you through creating two different passcodes to access your device. The first passcode will be used to unlock your device directly into guest mode. The second will be your primary passcode; granting you access to all of your apps.

You can also opt to have a different wallpaper displayed, allowing you to identify when Guest Mode is enabled with a glance.

After enabling the feature, setting both passcodes, and deciding the apps you'll grant access to, you're all set.

The next time someone asks "Hey, can I Google something on your phone real fast?" use your guest passcode to unlock your device and hand it over. Parents will also find comfort in handing a toddler or young child a device in guest mode with only Netflix or kids apps available.
