Jabra adds heart-rate monitoring to earbuds with Sport Pulse
The new wireless sport headphones feature in-ear heart monitoring and a dedicated exercise app.
The concept is similar to the headphones announced by LG at CES this year, although the company later made a decision to not bring that device into Australia.
The Pulse has standard Bluetooth connectivity for music and call control, but also has a companion app called Jabra Sport Life. The app can test your fitness level and then help users plan and track their overall workout, including aerobic capacity.
According to Jabra, the Sport Life app will also work with a number of existing fitness tracking and running apps, such as Endomondo.
The Pulse earbuds are IP55 rated for water, dust and drop resistance and have 4.5 hours of battery life for talk and music time, with a 10-day standby.
The Pulse will be available from October 1 for AU$249 and will be available in Dick Smith, Harvey Norman, and JB Hi-Fi.
Telstra has announced announced that it will be the "exclusive telecommunications launch partner" for the Pulse, with the device available in selected Telstra stores, also from October 1 for the same RRP.
