Woz fools Seth Rogen with story involving Steve Jobs and a robbery

In the meantime, the hype runs apace.

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, who was paid an alleged $200,000 to consult on the movie, last week appeared on Jimmy Fallon's "The Tonight Show" to keep the movie in the public eye and ear.

With him was actor Seth Rogen, who plays Woz in the movie.

Woz and Rogen were required to play a game called "True Confessions." This radical format involves one person around the table telling a story and the others around the table deciding whether the tale is full of biltong.

When it was Woz's turn, he told the story of himself and Jobs being held up at gunpoint outside a pizza parlor in Sunnyvale, California.

Those intimately familiar with Apple's history will know that the story Woz told was true. However, neither Fallon nor Rogen seemed to know.

Woz did his best to relate the story in an entirely believable way, but Rogen decided the tale was bunkum.

Woz was so keen to add details that he forgot to explain that the story was true until Fallon was bidding the audience farewell.

Perhaps, though, the most amusing part of the segment was Woz explaining that the man wanted to steal a device he'd made that let you make free phone calls.

Fallon chimed in about the robber: "Was it Bill Gates?"
