Sonos has yet to update its app with an Apple Watch counterpart, but that doesn't mean you can't control your system from your wrist.

If you own an Apple Watch you've likely at least experimented with controlling music playback from your wrist, with the built-in Music app. The convenience is immediately apparent, with the ability to pause or skip songs and control volume.

It's only natural if you own a Sonos speaker to begin looking for control it from your wrist. But you'll soon be disappointed as the Sonos app doesn't offer an Apple Watch app.

However, there's good news. A developer took it upon himself to create an app to control your Sonos system from the Apple Watch.

ZonePlay is the name of the app and it's available right now. Simply download and launch the app. You may have to wait a few seconds on the first launch for the app to find your Sonos system, but outside of that there is zero setup. It just works.

The $3.99 app allows you to independently control multiple speakers, or group everything together and activate party mode with a few taps on your iPhone or Apple Watch.

I used it last weekend and really enjoyed the added capabilities to the Apple Watch. I do wish Sonos would integrate something like this into its own app, but having the same capabilities and only costing a few dollars is money well spent.
